Trong chiến tranh luôn có những tàn ác, giã man, vô cảm! Nhưng không phải là tất cả.
Mà vẫn có những tấm lòng nhân đạo, tử tế và thương yêu đồng loại bất kể chủng tộc, màu da, ngay với quân thù khi đang bị nguy khốn! Tấm lòng bao dung của người lính chiến vẫn tỏ ra độ lương của một con người đáng kính, đáng phục, đáng trân trọng tôn thờ…
Nhìn hình ảnh những người lính bồng bế nạn nhân chiến tranh ở trên, ta thấy họ như một thiên thần, một con người vĩ đại, tấm lòng họ tó lớn vô lượng… Khiến nhìn lại mình, tôi thấy mình nhỏ bé, và hèn mọn và xấu hổ quá…! Tôi khóc vì cảm động vô cùng./.

Thanks for publishing these photos. Too many Americans do not know what we members of the American military forces experienced during the war in Viet Nam. We are proud of what we did for the people of Viet Nam and these pictures show the humane and compassionate side of our fighting men.

Thank you, Colonel Marty Lazar, for acknowledging our efforts [Viet Thuc Forum & Readers] to honor the young American soldiers who fought for the freedom of others [in Vietnam] and have shown the “humane and compassionate side” of their “tours of duty”. War is not only a conflict justification, but also a situation-limit to test our human values. At the edge of loosing them and with the élan of gaining them back.

Thank you for posting these pictures. I was a medic 91bravo and did many medcaps in the Hue area the summer of 68. I apologize for our government’s actions that killed millions of wonderful people.
Is the genocide still continuing against the montgnards?
Thank you for capturing images of the good that your people and ours accomplished together. I left my wife and a 3 year old daughter and a two week old son behind in Texas when I departed the USA enroute to Saigon and Da Nang to fly intelligence gathering missions for the US Air Force. The poem on my website is a summary of how we spent that year apart, with me among you and away from them. The poem ends with a tribute to all of those who were lost during the war.
The times when my comrades and I accompanied the Chaplains to visit missionaries and villages were highlights of my tour, being able to be a “big brother” as I missed my own children.
I continue to pray for the wonderful people of Vietnam to this day, and I have the pleasure and honor of working with a very fine Vietnamese engineer named An Luong performing modifications and upgrades to the 747-200 aircraft known to the world as “Air Force One”.
Military veterans are an amalgamation of unique individuals, melded together in the crucible of wars past and present and bonded by duty, honor, sacrifice, blood, and love of country. That bond between us still stands.

These photos are important to my Viet Nam experience. I thank you for them.
In particular, I believe I recognize my brother, Richard,in the third picture from the bottom, carrying the elderly Vietnamese woman. He was killed in Darlac province, Daq To (sp?) in November, 1967. Is there any way to find information on the location, date, or any other info about that photo? My family has been searching for years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
